METAL PLACES aims mainly at valorising, protecting, and promoting the cultural and natural heritage of Greece and Cyprus, while at the same time contributing to the growth of tourism in selected areas, by enhancing the tourism product following the triptych culture-tourism-development and aiming at sustainability and symbiotic development.
A special aim of this project is the multivalent promotion of the selected areas as poles of attraction of cultural interest. The implemented actions are directly linked to the strategy and priorities set by the Greece-Cyprus Cross-border Cooperation Programme, as they aim at highlighting the cultural dimension of areas of European-wide importance, contribute to the development of a common tourism strategy and build the capacity for targeted promotion of sites of natural/cultural importance.
